| By far the most
popular hunt we offer is our
combination
hunts. You can book the trip as a combo hunt for
brown bear & moose, brown bear & caribou, moose
& caribou, or all three species. |

"What a hunt! After hunting
moose in Canada, unsuccessfully 3 times, I got this dandy 69" moose at 9 am, on
the 1st day of the trip. Next they took me to a different spot where
I got this "bou" on the 2nd
day I was there. Personal service, hard working guides, I’ll be back for another
hunt!"
Bob D. South Dakota - Fall 2003

"I took this great moose with my bow on the 3rd day
of the hunt, and then they flew me into a different area where I got my bear
with a rifle, a true combination hunt. Best
outfitter in Alaska, call me for a reference!"
Carl L. St. Louis, MO. - Fall 2002

| When you book a
combination hunt with
us, you are really going on 2 different hunts, they just
happen to be back-to-back. For example:
If you
book the trip as a brown / grizzly bear & caribou
combination trip we’ll
first fly you to one of our “bear camps”. At this camp
you and your guide will concentrate on
hunting for brown
bear. After you harvest your bear we’ll fly you to a
different camp, different location, for the caribou
portion of your trip. We use this same scenario for all
of our combination
hunts.
* It is noteworthy to
mention that the 3 different species live in different
habitats:
Brown / grizzly bears can be found
on the hillsides eating berries during the fall
hunting season.
Moose
generally live around rivers or in dense forested
areas with plenty of creeks and willow brush.
Caribou live primarily in
open tundra country, grazing & walking daily.
|
 |
| *
While it is possible to get 2 or more species in the same area,
it is not likely, especially if you’re
hunting for mature trophies. It is better to hunt for each
species in their own prime habitat, respectively. This is the
sole reason we move our clients from camp-to-camp while on a
combination hunt, to provide the best
hunting
opportunity for each individual species. |

"My childhood dream came true. Got a nice brown bear and moose!
My 16 day combo hunt lasted exactly 7 days. Great
hunting area, and nice comfortable camps!" Book with this guide for a great hunt!"

Take Additional Animals/Species on an Incidental Basis for a
Trophy-Fee:
You
may harvest additional species on an incidental basis, and then
pay a trophy-fee (kill-fee). This means if an opportunity
presents itself you can take a different species, in addition to
what you booked the trip for, and then pay a trophy-fee for that
additional animal.“Trophy-fee” and “Kill-fee” are different
terms with the same meaning.
For example:
If you book a combination hunt for
brown / grizzly bear & moose, we’ll concentrate on
hunting for those primary species. While
hunting for brown / grizzly bear & moose if
we see a caribou that you’d like to take (incidental), you can
harvest that animal and then pay a kill-fee for that additional
animal.
*You will need to purchase applicable tags for each species that you
might want to take before the hunt.
Take
a Wolf or Wolverine
On ANY Hunt - $500.00 trophy fee
Take a Black Bear or Caribou
On ANY Hunt - $2,000.00 trophy-fee
Take a Brown Bear
On ANY hunt - $7,000.00 trophy-fee
(Incidental trophy fees are
only applicable to additional trophies that you harvest,
not the species your hunt is booked for.)
More than anything this opens up more opportunity for each hunter to
make the most of their Alaska hunting trip. This is an excellent
value for your dollar; almost everyone who hunts with us on a
combination trip takes additional species.
